A2V is widely recognised as a leader in Arts & Crafts, with expertise in Party, Stationery and Gifting. We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Product Safety & Compliance Technologist to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with at least 2 years of experience in product safety, gained within retail or a consumer product testing laboratory environment.

You will play a key role in ensuring our products meet all relevant safety, quality, and regulatory standards, supporting both new product development and ongoing compliance of existing lines.

Key Responsibilities:

* Review and assess product safety compliance for a wide range of consumer products (e.g., electricals, toys, homeware, stationery, etc.).
* Liaise with internal teams, suppliers, and external testing labs to ensure all required testing and documentation is completed.
* Interpret and apply relevant international regulations, directives, and standards (e.g., UKCA/CE marking, CLP, REACH, RoHS, EN standards).
* Maintain and update technical files, declarations of conformity, risk assessments, and safety documentation.
* Provide technical guidance to cross-functional teams regarding compliance requirements and best practices.
* Support investigation and resolution of safety-related product issues, recalls, or quality incidents.
* Monitor regulatory changes and help implement updated requirements across relevant product categories.

Requirements:

* Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in product safety or compliance, ideally in a retail or consumer product testing laboratory setting.
* Good understanding of UK, EU, and/or international product safety regulations and standards.
* Strong analytical and communication skills.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent attention to detail and documentation practices.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with compliance systems or databases is a plus.
* Degree or equivalent qualification in a related field (e.g., Science, Engineering, Product Compliance, Quality Management) preferred.
