About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate and talented Teacher of English to join our dynamic and supportive English department. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual who is eager to make a meaningful contribution to students’ academic progress and personal development. You will teach English across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging and inspiring lessons that foster a love of reading, writing, and communication.
The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic practitioner with a strong command of subject knowledge and a creative approach to the curriculum. You will work collaboratively with a team of experienced professionals and benefit from a school culture that prioritises professional development, teamwork and high expectations.
This post is suitable for experienced teachers or Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who are looking to begin their career in a school that values innovation and support.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated English lessons to students of varying abilities
* Use assessment to track progress and inform teaching
* Contribute to the design and development of the English curriculum
* Create a classroom environment that promotes learning, engagement and high standards of behaviour
* Participate in extra-curricular activities, including enrichment sessions, reading groups and school performances
* Work closely with colleagues to share best practice and contribute to departmental improvement initiatives
About You:
* A degree in English or a related subject
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
* A strong understanding of the English curriculum and effective pedagogical strategies
* Ability to motivate and inspire students of all backgrounds and abilities
* A reflective approach to teaching and a commitment to continuous professional development
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
