Project description
One of the biggest UK rail network companies operating with rail infrastructure and asset management has a need to develop and support enterprise-level information systems. The role will identify detailed business requirements, undertake full requirements management, inform the appropriate solution, and ensure rigorous testing to meet business needs. The role will also act as the interface between the business and Route Services IT (RSIT) during the end-to-end IT Delivery lifecycle and will work on multiple projects or workstreams.
Responsibilities
* Engage relevant subject matter experts to develop a clear understanding of the detailed business requirements behind identified problems or opportunities.
* Develop complete and consistent requirements specifications that conform to RSIT standards, understanding their impact on the business case.
* Apply industry best practices to support RSIT and the business in assessing and scoring requirements, identifying risk-based testing procedures to mitigate test-related risks.
* Engage subject matter experts to gain agreement on requirement specifications and cross-domain impacts.
* Elicit and specify detailed processes, information, and business change requirements to meet business and non-functional needs, informing transition plans.
* Contribute to high-level project plans and identify, assess, escalate risks and issues as needed.
* Analyze and document current processes and workflows to identify quality and efficiency improvements.
* Assess the impact of new requirements on business operations, design new processes, and develop change plans and benefits profiles.
* Create and maintain functional documentation related to key processes and services.
* Support major business transformation programs and drive delivery performance improvements, acting as Change Agents within P&Ps.
Skills
Must have
* Recent, consistent experience as a Business Analyst (5+ years)
* Experience with building headless platforms and API integrations
* Experience in requirements elicitation and gathering
* Stakeholder management skills, including conducting workshops
* Experience managing UAT
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Experience across the full project lifecycle
* Knowledge of analysis approaches, tools, and techniques
* Good stakeholder management skills
* Analytical thinking
* Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently
* Teamwork skills
Nice to have
* BCS/ISEB Foundation Certificate in Business Analysis
* Experience with business process and data modeling
