Mitie is now recruiting for a Building Services Engineer with a Gas Engineer bias. This role involves working on Central Government and Home Office Contracts.

We seek an experienced Gas Engineer with experience servicing air conditioning equipment to perform maintenance, repairs, and PPMs in Commercial and Residential government properties. Tasks include fabric, basic electrical, and plumbing work to ensure compliance with legislative standards.
You will complete necessary IT and paperwork reports, ensure statutory and mandatory tasks are completed on time, and all certification is correctly filled out with remedial works identified. As a Gas Engineer, reactive and emergency tasks must be carried out, utilizing handheld technology effectively.
Candidates must participate in a call-out rota for out-of-hours support and assist team members as directed. A proactive approach to sourcing additional opportunities and providing detailed quotes is required.
Requirements:
* Commercial Qualifications: CODNCO1, CCN1, CPA1, TPCP1 & TPCP1A, ICPN1, appliances CIGA1, CDGA1, CORT1.
* Domestic Qualifications: CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1.
* Experience in a similar role.
* Strong understanding of statutory compliance in building services engineering.
* IT literacy.
* Full Driving License.
* F-Gas certification (training available if needed).
This role requires an enhanced security check.
You will work with various manufacturer plants like Daikin, Mitsubishi, Media, Toshiba, and LG. Knowledge of installation designs and troubleshooting procedures, along with the ability to seek manufacturer support independently, is desirable. Accurate and timely documentation, logs, inspections, and remedial work records are essential.
Candidates must have a full driving license, be willing to participate in an On-Call rota, and perform manual tasks including handling, working at heights, and in confined spaces. Good communication skills and proficiency with handheld devices are important. The candidate should be self-motivated, solutions-focused, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Preferred experience includes working in Maintenance/Facilities Management, with knowledge of Health & Safety, Permit to Work, and safe systems of work. Opportunities for training, development, and progression are available.
