Responsible to:- Registered Manager Direct reports (when fulfilling role):- All Care Home Staff Role:- Deputy Care Home Manager Deputy Manager - Children's Residential Home Main Purpose of the Role * To deputise for, and assist the Registered Manager as required in all areas, in accordance with all statutory and regulatory requirements. * To assist in providing the highest possible standards of care, guidance, and support for the young people in our care, and to co-operate fully with other employees in achieving these objectives. * To support young people in planning for a more positive future by challenging inappropriate or negative behaviour. Main Tasks and Responsibilities * To fulfil all responsibilities of the Residential Support Worker (RSW) role as outlined in the relevant job description, and to support and deputise for the Registered Manager in accordance with The Care Standards Act 2000, the Children's Homes Regulations 2001, and other relevant legislation and best practices. * To promote and maintain the highest possible standard of care and development for young people in the home. * To provide monthly supervision to care staff, as required by the Registered Manager. * To assist in the daily operational management of the home, including staff rotas, monitoring of direct costs, and general budget control in conjunction with the Registered Manager. * To liaise with Local Authority Social Workers and other professionals regarding care planning, as required. * To represent young people at reviews, planning meetings, and in court, where necessary. * To ensure medication is administered safely and in accordance with prescribed guidelines. * To assist in identifying and coordinating training requirements for all staff. * To ensure that staff are aware of and adhere to all relevant policies and procedures. * To maintain accurate administrative records and prepare reports as required. * To manage and record petty cash expenditure, including agreed payments to young people. * To attend and contribute to regular staff meetings, recording minutes and following up on action points as necessary. * To attend operational meetings with the Registered Manager and Responsible Individual. * To participate in regular supervision sessions with the Registered Manager. * To carry out any other reasonable duties as allocated by the Registered Manager
