Join Our Team as a Band 6 Occupational Therapist in North Mental Health & Wellness, Barking and Dagenham
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our innovative and dynamic North Mental Health & Wellness Team. This multi-disciplinary team provides community-based support for service users with serious and enduring mental health diagnoses in the borough.
The post holder will deliver Occupational Therapy to a designated caseload, supporting mental health recovery and engagement in all aspects of independent living. Responsibilities include assessment, treatment, and evaluation of clinical interventions, planning and implementing therapeutic individual and group work, and completing functional ADL assessments when indicated. As part of the multidisciplinary team, the post holder will participate in care planning, risk assessments, duty, and triage tasks.
Successful candidates will possess strong engagement and motivation skills and be capable of working effectively with service users with complex mental health needs. Effective communication skills and a working knowledge of the Occupational Therapy process and the Model of Human Occupation are essential.
Under supervision from service Occupational Therapists and team leads, there are opportunities for skill and experience development, with prospects for career progression within NELFT.
Additional Information
* Starting with NELFT: All new starters will join on the first Monday of each month, undergoing a comprehensive induction at our Rainham head office, including mandatory training, systems training, and equipment allocation. This includes meetings with the executive team, senior managers, and attendance at engagement, health, and wellbeing sessions.
* Probationary Period: This post is subject to a probationary period, except for internal applicants or those already in a probationary or bank staff role.
* High Cost Area Supplement - London: An additional 15% of basic salary, ranging from £4,551 to £5,735 per year pro-rata.
* Certificates of Sponsorship: We are a registered sponsor organization but may not sponsor all roles. Check your eligibility under the UKVI points-based system.
