Do you dream of working in a scenic Scottish seaside town with a welcoming community and excellent quality of life? Join us as a Consultant Surgeon at Lorn and Islands Hospital in Oban, on the west coast of Scotland.
This role offers a chance to make a meaningful impact on local healthcare. The ideal candidate will have broad general surgical experience, strong communication and problem-solving skills, and flexibility to work within an integrated team. A specialist interest is desirable, with opportunities to develop it through collaboration with specialists in Glasgow and Highland. An interest in teaching and supporting nurses, junior doctors, and students is also valued.

It’s an ideal place for families, with good schools and affordable housing, and is within a 2.5-hour drive to Glasgow.
This role includes a Global Citizens contract for 3 years, offering 10 weeks annually dedicated to global health projects, including online teaching, policy engagement, and service evaluation, supported by the Global Health Academy in Edinburgh.
