We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join the Asset Operations Technical Service & Delivery (TS&D) team. As the Electrical Engineer you will be responsible for providing Electrical Operation and Maintenance Engineering, supporting the Asset Operations team across a diverse portfolio of offshore wind assets.
The primary focus will be the NNG Windfarm in Eyemouth, with expectation to support other offshore assets as needed, travelling within the UK and Ireland.
What you will be doing day to day
* Lead by example, maintaining the highest level of HSEQ standards.
* Provide in‑field electrical engineering expertise at site across the full offshore asset portfolio.
* Support Asset Operation teams with electrical/electromechanical planned preventive maintenance and emergency/fault conditions on the EBoP and associated generation plant.
* Review and create work scopes, instructions and quality plans.
* Challenge current thinking and processes to seek alternative methods.
* Drive continuous improvement and develop improvement cases for asset performance and efficiency.
* Identify innovative solutions and ensure technology advances are utilised, upgrading existing/assets and future‑proofing.
* Manage technical queries from team members, contractors and suppliers.
* Manage the Asset Change Management process to ensure modifications, retrofits and repairs are documentedli>
* Review, update, amend and approve site documentation against existing single‑line diagrams, electrical drawings and Test Data.
* Identify and log risks to the risk register with appropriate RAG status.
* Scope requirements for external technical specialists, reporting on Root Cause Analysis and ensuring asset integrity is a priority.
* Identify target areas for operational performance improvement across sites.
* Ensure compliance with the EDF Power Solutions asset management policy.
* Train to become Senior Authorised Person (SAP) under the EDF Power Solutions E&M Safety Rules.
What do you need to be great at this role
* Proven leadership delivering projects and programmes.
* Securing and maintaining a safe working environment.
* Defect management and prioritisation.
* Strong commitment to Health, Safety, Environment and Quality.
* Responsible and accountable support for Asset Operations.
* Experience installing, operating, maintaining and testing HV switchgear, transformers, cables (XLPE), joints and terminations.
* Minimum HNC/HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
* NEBOSH or IOSH (or equivalent) certification.
* Experience in the power generation sector, especially renewable technologies; offshore experience desirable.
* Physically fit to climb, work at height and offshore.
* Excellent relationship building with external partners, stakeholders and internal reporting lines.
* Full UK driving licence.
Location
Based in Eyemouth, with flexibility to travel around the UK and overseas as required.
