Our Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technicians (ACPT)
Our ACPTs make a real difference by delivering outstanding service to the communities we serve. They lead pharmacy teams, provide Macmillan Cancer Support advice, and perform patient triage. We support your role with emerging technologies, a pharmacy helpdesk with live chat, and a network of pharmacy professionals across our stores and Support Centre. We also offer a six-week training programme for Pharmacy Technicians aspiring to become ACPTs.
About the opportunity
As an Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician, you will play a key role in our pharmacies, leading your team to provide trusted services to customers and patients. This role offers opportunities for career development or to continue providing excellent community service with ongoing CPD.
Your main responsibilities will include:
1. Accurately checking patient prescriptions that have been clinically checked by a Pharmacist, meeting regulatory and company standards.
2. Providing expert advice to patients about medicines, products, or Macmillan Cancer Support.
3. Delivering various services based on store needs.
4. Building strong relationships with your Pharmacy team; coaching and inspiring them to deliver high standards of care.
5. Assisting with patient triage and distributing prescription handouts.
6. Making legal, safe, and ethical decisions in the pharmacy.
7. Managing operational tasks such as stock replenishment, workload management, order fulfillment, and handling controlled drugs, ensuring patient safety.
What you’ll need to have
1. Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC.
2. A passion for coaching and leading a dispensary team.
3. Excellent communication and organisational skills.
4. Motivation to improve for our teams, customers, and patients.
5. A desire to deliver outstanding patient care.
6. Ability to use pharmacy systems and technology.
It would be great if you also had
Previous experience as an ACPT is beneficial but not essential, as training will be provided.
