Education Personnel are recruiting a part-time SEN Teaching Assistant for a primary school located in Derby city centre. Its central location makes it easily accessible by public transport and within walking distance of local amenities.
SEN support is delivered both in class and through planned small-group and individual support sessions, depending on pupil need. SEN Teaching Assistants work closely with class teachers and the SENCo to support pupils during core lessons, transitions, and intervention time. This SEN TA role suits someone who is confident supporting pupils who need help staying focused, following instructions, and completing tasks in a busy school environment, with flexibility across the week.

• Assist with planning, delivery, and assessment alongside the class teacher
• Monitor progress and help implement targeted interventions
• Support behaviour and emotional regulation using agreed strategies
• Contribute to reviews, meetings, and wider school activities when needed

• Holds a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
• Has experience supporting pupils with SEN in a UK primary setting
• Confident working 1:1 and adapting learning in real time
• Calm, consistent, and confident with behaviour management
• Communicates well with pupils, staff, and parents
• Willing to be involved in school life and ongoing training
