Location: Stafford - Full Time Onsite
Contract Length: Until 15 August 2026
IR35 Status: Inside IR35
Pay: £21.52 per hour via Umbrella
Responsibilities
* Perform testing, diagnostics, repair, maintenance, modification, calibration, and manufacture of equipment down to module or component level using approved engineering documentation and techniques.
* Carry out planned and ad-hoc advanced repairs using technical documentation, Approved Source Information (ASI) and OEM data.
* Support the surveying, refurbishment, and maintenance of Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
* Undertake reverse engineering and development activities, including producing engineering documentation and test procedures where required.
* Hold responsibilities for self-certification, over-signing, and conditioning of equipment (serviceable, unserviceable, or scrap).
* Support the supervision, training, and mentoring of junior technicians and apprentices.
* Use internal engineering IT systems to support maintenance and documentation activities.
* Provide technical advice and support where required.
* Ensure all work complies with engineering governance, safety policies, and relevant legislation.
Requirements
* Previous experience working within an engineering workshop or heavy engineering environment.
* Experience carrying out scheduled maintenance and repair activities.
* Strong mechanical engineering and fault-finding ability.
* Ability to follow engineering documentation and technical drawings.
Qualifications
* Level 4 qualification with an advanced/higher apprenticeship, OR
* Level 3 qualification with a recognised engineering apprenticeship and relevant engineering experience
