Head of Interventions Location - Vinney Green Secure Children's Home Salary Range - £50,269 - £53,460 Job Description How you'll make a difference As the Head of Interventions, you will hold a pivotal leadership role within Vinney Green Secure Children's Home, a complex 24/7 service supporting some of South Gloucestershire’s most vulnerable young people aged 10-18. Shaping the quality, safety and impact of our care, you will maintain an active leadership presence, inspiring and guiding a multi‑disciplinary team to deliver personalised, trauma‑informed support. Working with senior leaders, regulators and multi‑agency partners, you will influence service design, drive excellence and ensure every child receives safe, compassionate and high‑quality care. What you will be doing It will be your responsibility to provide strategic and operational leadership across the care division, ensuring statutory, contractual and legislative compliance within a highly regulated environment. You will lead and supervise case managers, with oversight of intervention and resettlement workers, embedding high standards of practice, performance and accountability. It will be key for you to ensure that robust plans and processes for the audit and quality assurance of care and casework are in place, analysing themes and trends with a focus on implementing learning across the workforce. Using your knowledge and experience, you will review, develop and oversee intervention programmes, ensuring they are fit‑for‑purpose, evidence‑based and tailored to the needs of young people. Liaising with regulators and safeguarding partners, you will contribute to notifications, statutory meetings and multi‑agency planning, including risk management, care planning and deprivation of liberty decisions. As a key member of this specialist setting, you will be confident to contribute to long‑term service planning, business continuity and service development, ensuring high‑quality, well‑organised and outcome‑focused provision. What we need from you We require you to hold a recognised social work qualification and registration with Social Work England. It is essential that you have significant relevant management and supervisory experience within children’s social care or similar residential/secure environments, with experience of managing budgets and prioritising resources. You will have a strong track record of managing risk related to young people, including offending behaviour, risk‑taking and safeguarding concerns, alongside a deep understanding of legislation, best practice and external policy impacting residential childcare and secure accommodation. With highly developed communication, interpersonal and influencing skills, you will be able to motivate and develop staff and engage effectively with partners, having previous experience of working with complex partnerships, multi-agency systems and statutory safeguarding frameworks. You will be able to analyse data, audit findings and performance trends to drive improvement, along with strong project management, problem-solving and organisational skills, with the ability to lead innovative and develop specialist solutions. It would be advantageous to have experience of using quality assurance systems, commissioning frameworks and long-term service planning tools. What you need to know Please note that due to the nature of this role it is a requirement of employment that an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is obtained for this post. Vinney Green operates a full non-smoking environment and there is no provision to facilitate smoking anywhere on site. Staff’s personal belongings are required to be left in a provided locker on entry into the building and we may require you to undertake a further physical fitness check. Interviews will be held week commencing 18th May 2026.
