Job Overview
You will maintain and amend claims for Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction in line with the relevant regulations and schemes, determine and calculate overpayments of Housing Benefit, and adjust awards to Council Tax Reduction.
Responsibilities
* Maintain and amend Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction claims.
* Determine and calculate overpayments of Housing Benefit.
* Adjust awards for Council Tax Reduction where necessary.
* Take the required action on overpayment or adjustment claims.
Location & Hours
Based at Grafton House, Russell Road, Ipswich. 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. This is a hybrid role with a minimum of one day per week in the office.
Qualifications and Experience
* Minimum 2 years of qualitative experience.
* Minimum 5 GCSEs, including Maths and English, or an NVQ Level 3 in a related field.
* Up‑to‑date knowledge of Housing Benefit Regulations or experience in a similar field.
* Ability to organise, prioritise, analyse and work independently.
* Flexibility with a can‑do attitude.
* Good communication skills and strong customer focus.
* Desirable experience using Revenues and Benefits software systems.
