The Crane & Automation Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the safe installation, inspection, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of crane systems and associated automation controls across client projects. This role will coordinate on-site operations, enforce quality and safety standards, and support regulatory compliance, aligning with Bureau Veritas’ commitment to inspection, testing, and certification.
Key Responsibilities
* 1. Technical Inspection & Compliance Conduct statutory and non-statutory inspections on cranes, lifting systems, and automation equipment. Ensure compliance with local and international safety standards, design specifications, and client requirements. Identify non-conformities and recommend corrective actions to maintain safety and compliance. Prepare detailed technical inspection reports and certification documents.
* 2. Site Supervision & Coordination Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of crane systems and automation equipment on client sites. Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and clients to resolve technical issues. Ensure proper workflow and resource allocation to meet project timelines. Monitor site safety practices and ensure strict adherence to HSE (Health Safety, Environment) standards.
* 3. Testing & Commissioning Perform functional tests, load testing, and performance verification of crane systems and automation controls. Validate system performance against technical specifications and safety requirements. Support commissioning activities for new or upgraded crane and automation systems.
* 4. Documentation & Reporting Maintain accurate records of inspections, testing, commissioning, and corrective actions. Upload reports and certifications into Bureau Veritas’ documentation systems. Assist in creating technical manuals, checklists, and SOPs for crane operations and automation systems.
* 5. Stakeholder Engagement Serve as the technical point of contact for clients, contractors, and internal BV teams. Provide updates on site progress, inspection findings, and recommendations. Facilitate technical meetings and clarify project requirements.
Required Skills & Experience
Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or related field. Proven experience with cranes, lifting equipment, and industrial automation (inspection, commissioning, or operations). Familiarity with safety and compliance standards for lifting equipment (e.g., OSHA, ISO, local statutory regulations). Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and load diagrams. Strong communication skills for coordinating multiple stakeholders. Detail-oriented, with strong reporting and documentation skills.
