Job Summary
We are looking for a Buyer located in Kendal, England to support our procurement team and work closely with the Procurement Manager.
Responsibilities
* Process orders, reschedules and cancellations based on requisitions and MRP output.
* Track shipments and follow up when necessary.
* Maintain procurement records (items purchased, costs, delivery, inventory) and produce reports and metrics.
* File and record all necessary documents. Receive and handle confirmations.
* Check inventory of critical materials (including onsite checks when needed) according to the Shortage List.
* Manage supplier relationships to meet price, delivery and quality expectations and escalates when appropriate.
* Approve invoices for payment and monitor material movement through the production cycle.
Qualifications & Experience
* 1 to 2 years of procurement experience.
* Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and ERP software; able to use ten‑key data entry.
* Strong English reading, writing and oral communication skills.
* Basic mathematical skills (discounts, percentages, algebra, geometry).
* Ability to interpret instructions and solve problems in standardized situations.
* CIPS certification is an advantage.
* Eligible to work in the United Kingdom.
