A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen to join one of the UK’s leading centres for the treatment of Pseudomyxoma Peritonei (PMI). Our specialist Peritoneal Malignancy Unit also provides expert care for patients undergoing complex elective procedures including liver resections, colorectal surgery and urological interventions.
Our patients have highly complex clinical needs, requiring coordinated input from specialist nurses, physiotherapists, pharmacists, dietitians and a wide range of allied professionals. You will work as part of a truly multidisciplinary team on a ward that has achieved two consecutive Gold Ward Accreditation awards, reflecting the highest standards of care and professional practice.
We are now seeking a Clinical Matron for C2 – Peritoneal Malignancy to provide strong, visible and compassionate nursing leadership across the Business Unit. This pivotal role forms part of the triumvirate leadership model, working collaboratively with the Clinical Director and Operational Service Manager to deliver excellence in patient experience, quality, safety, and operational performance.
The post-holder will lead the nursing agenda for the Peritoneal Malignancy specialty, championing continuous improvement, staff development, and high-quality care delivery.
This role is primarily based at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital.
Main duties of the job
1. Provide professional leadership and line management to a range of staff, holding 24-hour accountability for the care delivered within the ward/unit.
2. Develop exceptional working-together relationships with both within and outside the organisation that promote a culture of continuous improvement in quality and safety and assist in the implementation of the clinical governance strategy.
3. Create and maintain environments that support the implementation of the vision and values of HHFT and assist with embedding the Trust's vision and values into objectives plans and business developments.
