Pay Rate: £13.84 – £16.15 per hour (dependent on experience)

We are currently seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentor to work across secondary schools in the B31 area of Birmingham. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of students who require additional social, emotional, and behavioural support.

Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with behavioural, SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health), or additional needs.
* Assist in de-escalating challenging behaviours in a calm, non-confrontational manner.
* Work collaboratively with SENCOs, teachers, and pastoral teams to monitor progress and adjust support plans.
* Liaise with parents/carers and external agencies where required.

Essential Attributes:
* Experience working with young people, particularly those with SEMH, ADHD, or behavioural needs (school or youth setting preferred).
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* A calm, patient, and non-judgemental approach.
* Confidence in managing challenging situations with a solution-focused mindset.
* Understanding of safeguarding and child protection protocols.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Desirable Qualifications/Experience:
* Background in Psychology, Youth Work, Education, or relevant field.
* Team Teach or equivalent de-escalation training (desirable but not essential – training can be provided).
* Experience within secondary schools or alternative provision.
