As a Garment Technologist you
will be responsible for ensuring the quality and fit of samples and production
garments across a mix of categories.
Product categories include Men’s, Women's
and kids both knitted and woven product as well as a full range of accessories.
Working closely with the Buying and
Design teams you will take ownership of the Saltrock block, standardising the
fit whilst ensuring delivery is in line with the critical path and the highest
standards are maintained.
Garment Technologist - The Role:
·Produce clear and detailed technical
specifications and graded specs.
·Prepare technical packs for
factories, problem solve and handle production and capacity issues.
·Lead regular meetings with Buying
and Design and effectively put into work any new development samples required.
·Produce clear and detailed technical
specifications, and prepare technical packs for factories, problem solve and
handle production issues.
·Handle all product submissions for
fitting, logging and filing to build a fully sealed range.
·Arrange and lead all fit meetings,
daily if required, bringing all pre measured garments and previous fits for
reference.
·Relay comments directly to factories
and explain any amendments required.
·Where required request and manage
any relevant testing reports for that product.
·Ensure all technical information is
kept up to date and any necessary alterations are made following sample reviews
and fit sessions.
·Monitor and request samples through
the making process using the critical path to ensure that they meet deadline
dates, are to a high quality standard and meet all required specifications.
·Occasional travel to the offshore
factories to assess products at Pre production and Production AQL stages might
be required.
Skills/Experience Required
· Minimum of 3years experience in similar clothing
environment, within a garment technical/technologist position.
· Proven track record in establishing and maintaining
quality and fit standards with factories.
· Excellent hands on experience of the fit process from
creating graded specs through to final production sample.
· A confident, enthusiastic, proactive individual with
strong interpersonal skills.
· Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
