About the Role:
The Quality Surveyor is a key on-site full-time role. The post holder will be responsible for providing quantity surveying support to project infrastructure procurements and all associated costing activities. The role will require ongoing interaction with the Commercial and Cost Management team as well as the wider Joint Project Team (JPT) with an emphasis of working closely with the Project Manager to maintain an understanding of the schedule and payment applications. Support in the delivery of periodic performance reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support Commercial and project teams in the review, challenge, and assurance of contractor CE quotations.
* Attend Programme and Commercial meetings to provide a summary of contract management metrics.
* Provide commercial advice to the project team including but not limited to: preparing recommendations for the release of any retention funds held, preparing recommendations for payment notices, pay less notices and other similar notices of default, advising on the Subcontractor’s entitlement to extension of time.
* Preparing recommendation for Subcontractor’s payment of liquidated damages
* Draft Early Warning (EW) replies, compensation event notification replies, quotation replies, and replies to proposed instructions
* Lead the assessment of the application for payment and forecast to completion, producing a report of the assessment for the PM
* Manage PO values and associated invoicing.
* Administer CEMAR at the weekly EW meeting.
* Attend weekly commercial meetings with Contractors, providing updates on applications for payments, forecasts to completion and cost assurance undertaken, including attendance at early warning and risk reduction meetings.
Key Requirements:
Essential
* Experience of delivering quantity surveying activities for complex programmes /projects
* Experience in delivering NEC 4 contracting processes and activities.
* Experience in the use of CEMAR.
* Experience in stakeholder engagement throughout programme/ project delivery.
* UK National with SC Clearance (or ability to obtain it).
* Demonstrable suitable qualifications and experience relating to NEC 4 costing activities in a major project / programme delivery role.
* Accredited Degree in an appropriate Cost or Commercial discipline (or equivalent qualification and experience)
Desirable
* Experience of working at similar regulated site to deliver programmes/ projects.
* RICS Chartered or equivalent.
* NEC4 PMA qualified.
