The Role

At JA Mar Hall we are seeking an experienced Events Sales Manager to join the commercial team taking ownership of generating new and returning business, reporting directly to the Commercial Director.

Responsibilities:

* Proactively generate new business and maximise sales opportunities for hotel events, achieveing sales targets,
* Convert enquiries, show rounds and leads into confirmed bookings,
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, agencys and key accounts,
* Actively convert demand for hotel events into sales, developing every opportunity to its full potential.
* Provide all clients with an accurate quotation that is in line with the hotel’s pricing matrix and maximises events revenue.
* Consistently review actual conference & banqueting revenue and occupancy achieved against budget and forecast to re-evaluate strategies.
* Maintain regular contact with conference bookers to develop client relationships in conjunction with the Director of Sales and Commercial Director.
* Support the Director of Sales & Commercial Director with Familiarisation Trips, mail shots and other sales activities where required.
* Work closely with and support the Commercial Director and the Director of Sales to increase sales and actively use sales leads received in the office to their fullest potential.
* Communicate clearly, promptly and efficiently with events clients/organisers to ensure the detailed requirements of each event are discussed and agreed upon in advance.
* Conduct pre-event meetings with clients and the Food & Beverage team.
* Ensure effective and timely communication with relevant heads of departments to ensure that client requests are met and that all amendments, late bookings, and special requirements are communicated effectively to the department heads.
* Develop a close working relationship with Reservations and ensure accurate and precise communication.
* Liaise with the Food & Beverage Managers to improve flow of information, ensure superior service and continually improve the product.
* Maintain active contact with clients from point of booking the event through to the day of the event, finalising details, and a clear, concise and timely handover to the operational team.
* Ensure clients’ bills are checked and settled in line with the hotel standards and procedures.


About you

* Proven experience in a role such as Events Sales Manager, Events Office Manager, Senior Events Co ordinator, Conference and Events Office Manager or Meetings and Events Manager within the hospitality sector.
* Demonstratable track record of successfully co-ordinating different @types of events within luxury hotels.
* Excellent sales and customer service skills with proven negotiation skills.
* Excellent organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
* Ability to simultaneously manage multiple tasks and priorities.
* Typically this role, working 9am - 5:30pm, 5 days per week however flexibility should be availbe to work occasional evenings and weekends in line with business requirements.
* Customer-focused and confident when dealing with guests (including complaints).
* Conscientious, with a great team work ethic, and positive can-do attitude.
