Engineering Course Leader (Tutor)
Full time: 37 hours per week
Location: Stephen Burke Construction Academy, Swadlincote
Salary: Up to £36,590 plus £4,500 'Golden Hello' staged over 3 years plus bursaries and development opportunities as described

Who we are looking for
Burton and South Derbyshire College is seeking to appoint a qualified, committed and enthusiastic individual to join our Engineering team to deliver and lead on a range of full-time programmes. Applicants will require working knowledge and experience within the areas of Engineering and Manufacturing with a focus on technical skills and machining; CNC experience would be desirable. You will teach across a range of Engineering courses and modules aligned to your occupational skill set in order to deliver a high quality provision to our learners. You will demonstrate innovative teaching and learning, coupled with excellent communication skills to motivate and guide learners to succeed.
Applicants ideally hold a relevant Higher Education qualification in Engineering or related subjects and have industrial experience alongside appropriate teaching and assessing qualifications. The College welcomes applications from vocational specialists who desire to pursue a career in further education and is prepared to offer training for individuals to gain a recognised teaching qualification alongside this role.
For industry professionals looking to move into teaching in further education there is also the opportunity to apply for government grant scheme with payments of up to £6,000 per annum whilst studying teacher training programmes. We also welcome graduate applications for this role on our Graduate Teaching Programme.

Qualifications and experience
* Relevant Higher Education qualification in Engineering or related subject
* Industrial experience in Engineering or related fields
* Appropriate teaching and assessing qualifications; willing to gain recognised teaching qualification where needed
