About the role
Start date expected to be mid-December 2025.
We are recruiting a HR Assistant to work as part of the HR team on a 12 month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave. The candidate will efficiently support the HR functions of Coventry, Warwickshire and Worcestershire Mind, performing a range of HR tasks including absence monitoring, onboarding staff, completing DBS checks and coordinating formal and informal meetings when required.
Key responsibilities
* Provide administrative support to the HR department.
* Record and monitor absences, including sickness and annual leave, and report to Payroll, Head of HR and the appropriate Service Manager.
* Respond to emails and requests from internal and external sources.
* Maintain and update personnel records.
* Follow the recruitment process, advertising vacancies, organising interviews, issuing offers and carrying out required checks such as references and DBS checks.
* Handle telephone calls sensitively, recording messages and ensuring they reach the appropriate staff members using agreed procedures.
* Coordinate formal and informal meetings and be the designated note‑taker if necessary.
* Experience of working in an HR environment.
* Experience with Microsoft 365, Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook and calendar management.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Computer literacy and use of electronic devices.
* Good time‑management and organisational skills.
* Attention to detail at all times.
* Completed CIPD Level 3 qualification or above.
* Knowledge of HR processes and procedures.>
* Commitment to confidentiality and GDPR procedures.
