Civil Engineer – Cambridge
Hybrid – 1–2 days per week in the office
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing transport and infrastructure consultancy for a Civil Engineer to join their team in Cambridge. With multiple offices across the UK and a strong reputation for delivering high-quality engineering advice, this organisation offers an excellent opportunity for engineers looking to work on varied and meaningful projects within a very flexible working set up.
The consultancy provides transport planning, traffic engineering and highway design services to both private and public sector clients, supporting projects from early feasibility stages through to implementation. Their approach focuses on delivering innovative, practical and cost-effective solutions while working closely with multidisciplinary project teams.
With a diverse portfolio spanning residential, retail, education, healthcare, sports and leisure, and commercial developments, the team plays a key role in helping shape sustainable and effective transport and infrastructure solutions across the UK. They have also supported a number of public sector organisations on the development of public buildings and infrastructure.
The Role
As a Civil Engineer, you will support the delivery of infrastructure and development projects, contributing to design work and technical analysis across a range of schemes. You will work alongside experienced engineers and planners, helping to develop solutions that address the transport and infrastructure implications of development.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the design and delivery of highways and infrastructure schemes
Prepare technical drawings, reports and engineering calculations
Support site access appraisals and development feasibility studies
Work collaboratively with transport planners, engineers and external project teams
Contribute to the delivery of projects from initial concept through to implementation
Ensure designs comply with relevant standards and regulationsWhat We’re Looking For
Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
Experience in highway design, development infrastructure or transport-related projects
Knowledge of industry software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroDrainage or similar
Support the preparation and delivery of Section 278 and Section 38 highway designs
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Working towards ICE chartership (or interested in pursuing it) is advantageousWhat’s on Offer
