Overview
Raytheon UK is seeking an experienced EHS Generalist to join its UK EHS team. The role provides support to the EHS and Facilities teams, offers guidance to management and staff across the business, and plays a key part in maintaining health, safety and environmental compliance.
Responsibilities
* Work on various projects with the EHS team and act as lead where required.
* Develop and implement EHS programmes, initiating change processes.
* Develop a comprehensive understanding of the EHS management system in line with legal and corporate standards.
* Provide EHS advice and guidance, using escalation techniques when appropriate.
* Employ risk assessment and initiate action plans.
* Serve as point of contact and lead compliance with COSHH regulations across the UK.
* Lead and participate in audits, inspections and incident investigations, including work at height, confined spaces and underground areas.
* Prepare and present at site EHS committee meetings and support functional EHS Committee meetings.
* Chair sustainability team meetings and drive improvements in line with legislative and ISO standards.
* Maintain documentation for legal compliance auditing.
* Assist in site compliance and completion of compliance tasks.
* Contribute to continuous improvement activities applying CORE principles.
* Write reports on EHS related issues, performance objectives and metrics.
* Meet deadlines, achieve personal goals and contribute to team effectiveness.
Qualifications
* Education: Professional qualification at minimum NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent environmental qualification.
* Preferably chemical background or awareness of chemical management systems.
* Experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 operational parameters.
* In-depth knowledge of UK statutory regulations concerning environment, health and safety.
* Knowledge of general and hazardous waste hierarchy, COSHH and all associated requirements.
* Experience in health and safety training, content creation and audit readiness.
* Background in a manufacturing/engineering environment.
* Proficient in report writing and presentations using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
* Project management experience.
* High initiative, commitment to goal completion and analytical skills.
* Member of a recognised professional body (e.g., IOSH, IEMA, IIRSM) or pursuing membership.
* Current holder or eligibility to obtain MoD Secret (SC) level security clearance.
Additional Qualifications (Desirable)
* Willingness to pursue auditing qualification (ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
