HW Finance are working with an established business in Hull looking to add to their team in a newly created Finance Assistant role. The business are going through an exciting period of change, implementing a new system alongside expanding the team so it’s a great time to join.
The Assistant Accountant will support the Finance Manager and Divisional Financial Controller with core accounting processes, reporting and controls. This role is suited to someone early on in their studies eager to learn and develop, with full study support on offer.
Responsibilities will include:
* Preparation of daily bank reconciliations
* Assist with monthly management accounts and variance analysis
* Support cashflow management and foreign currency drawdowns
* Raising ad-hoc payments to suppliers
* Assist with balance sheet reconciliations
* Assist with VAT returns and audit processes
* Support ERP post-implementation processes and reporting
* Other ad-hoc duties to support the Finance department
Ideally, you will have:
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in a finance or accounts role
* Studying or willing to study towards ACCA / CIMA
* Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping
* Good Excel skills and systems literacy (the business are due to go through a system implementation)
* Attention to detail and analytical mindset
