Kitchen experience is preferable, but not essential. Key Responsibilities: Assisting with meal preparation - includes tasks like washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients. Preparing meals for residents with specific needs -This may involve creating meals for individuals with dietary restrictions, allergies, or swallowing difficulties. Monitoring stock levels - keeping track of food and supplies, ensuring the kitchen is well-stocked. Following instructions from the Head Chef - includes preparing specific dishes and following recipes as directed. Maintaining hygiene and cleanliness - ensure the kitchen, including food preparation areas, is clean and sanitary at all times. Assisting with cleaning and sanitation -includes washing dishes, cleaning equipment, and maintaining general kitchen tidiness. Disposing of waste - ensure proper disposal of food waste and other trash. Organizing storage areas - help maintain an organized and efficient kitchen. Serving meals to residents - help with plating and serving meals, ensuring residents receive their meals in a timely and respectful manner. Liaising with care staff and residents - involves communicating politely and professionally with residents and other staff members. Restocking dining areas - Ensuring dining areas are clean and well-stocked with necessary items. Adhering to health and safety regulations - includes following food safety guidelines and reporting any potential hazards. Essential Skills and Qualities: Working as part of a team - collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations.
