The Site Operations Manager role is crucial to enhancing operational performance and maintaining high standards. You will identify and implement an operational strategy for the business that maximises the output of all its assets in a safe and efficient manner, developing a customer-focused culture throughout all levels of the business, driving an ethos of continuous improvement motivated by a safety-first mindset, while ensuring the delivery of a quality OTIF product. You will help build, train, and develop the teams, ensuring that our processes are efficient, effective, and safe, and our people are well trained, motivated, and able to thrive and develop within their roles, now and in the future.
Specifically:
* To develop a “safety first” approach that ensures operations are conducted in a manner which fully complies with strict Health and Safety, Quality, Environmental policies, and all relevant legislative requirements.
* Lead the Operations Team to continually achieve and wherever possible exceed productivity, operating cost, customer service, and quality target levels.
* Develop & embed through team-working a culture of continuous improvement.
* Identify areas for improvement and drive opportunities to reduce and eliminate waste.
* With head office support, recruit, engage, train, and develop the site team, managing its performance and reward, to maintain an effective workforce capable of meeting its current and projected objectives.
* Ensure all assets/machinery are maintained and operate at their optimum capability.
* Formulate and agree on annual operational and financial budgets that secure the resources necessary to achieve agreed workloads at an optimum cost base.
* Implement succession planning for the site.
Essential Skills and Qualifications for the role:
* Health and safety qualification, preferably NEBOSH.
* Demonstrable experience of leading an operational function with a proven track record of delivering results.
* Experience of operating and influencing at a strategic level.
* Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage, negotiate, and manage key stakeholders and suppliers.
* Experience of managing budgets.
* Resilient, self-motivated, and able to work well under pressure.
