Sales & Marketing Executive – Automation Industry

Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Overview
Are you a proactive and creative professional with experience in both sales and marketing? Our client, a leading player in the automation sector, is looking for an enthusiastic Sales & Marketing Executive to join their growing team in Worcester.
This is a hybrid role split evenly between business development and marketing activity. You’ll be responsible for generating leads, building client relationships, and driving brand awareness across digital channels. Key Responsibilities
Sales (50%)
*
Generate and convert new business opportunities across key industry sectors
*
Qualify and manage inbound leads from exhibitions, campaigns, and referrals
*
Maintain and manage CRM system (Pipedrive), ensuring data accuracy and up-to-date notes
*
Collaborate with engineering and design teams to support quotes and proposals
*
Assist in client visits, sales presentations, and technical meetings
*
Track and report on sales pipeline, opportunity status, and conversion rates
*
Support the full customer journey from first contact to project handover
Marketing (50%)
*
Manage and grow social media presence (LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.)
*
Create and run digital marketing campaigns, including email and targeted outreach
*
Develop written and visual content such as case studies, project stories, and service overviews
*
Regularly update and optimise website content (pages, blogs, keywords)
*
Plan and support trade show participation and follow-up activities
*
Coordinate with external marketing partners or freelancers when needed
*
Monitor and report on performance metrics using tools like Google Analytics, Mailchimp, and LinkedIn
Required Skills & Experience
*
Previous experience in a B2B sales and/or marketing role (automation, engineering, or manufacturing sector preferred)
*
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
*
CRM proficiency (e.g. Pipedrive or similar)
*
Comfortable using digital marketing tools (Canva, Mailchimp, LinkedIn, Google Analytics)
*
Strong copywriting and content creation abilities
*
Highly organised with a self-starter attitude and ability to multitask
*
Capable of working closely with technical teams to understand product and service offerings
