About the Role AsFinancialAccountant, you will take ownership of corefinancialaccounting activities and play a key role in maintaining the integrity of the organisationsfinancialreporting. Your responsibilities will include: Preparing year-end statutory accounts and coordinating the external audit process Producing and submitting regulatory returns to the Regulator of Social Housing Managing and maintaining the Assets and Liabilities Register Ensuring efficient and timely month-end and year-end close processes Maintaining strongfinancialcontrols and completing balance sheet reconciliations Overseeing VAT and Corporation Tax compliance, including liaison with HMRC and external tax advisers Producing high-qualityfinancialreports, metrics, and analysis for colleagues, management, and committees Supporting Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) reporting Leading, supporting, and developing theFinancialAccounting Assistant About You You will be a qualified finance professional with: Strong technical knowledge acrossfinancialaccounting, tax, VAT, and treasury Proven experience in statutory reporting, audit, andfinancialcontrol Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines Confidence using accounting systems and advanced Excel skills A collaborative mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement Some experience of people management or mentoring Why Join Community Housing?
