Our equine department is ambulatory-based, covering a wide geographical radius. We provide both yard visits and hospital appointments for in-patient medical management and surgical intervention. We pride ourselves on delivering advanced techniques and a high level of expertise, while building strong and professional relationships with referring veterinary surgeons, owners, and insurers.
We are seeking a motivated and organised full-time RVN & Equine Co-ordinator to manage the day-to-day running of our equine department. This role is a maternity cover position on a 1-year fixed-term contract.
Hours: 40 hours per week over 5 days, Monday to Friday.
The Role
Key responsibilities will include:
* Coordinating and managing the equine diary
* Liaising with insurance companies
* Dispensing medications under veterinary direction
* Assisting the Ophthalmologist during equine surgical procedures
* Creating and processing invoices
* Stock control, ordering, and stock takes
* Communicating effectively with referring veterinary surgeons and clients to ensure a seamless and efficient service
This is a varied and rewarding role requiring excellent organisational skills, strong communication, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a close-knit team.
Essential Requirements
* Qualified SQP or RVN (required for medication handling)
* Own vehicle and willingness to travel to yards and hospitals for surgeries
* Eligible to work in the UK
Experience with equine diary coordination would be advantageous but is not essential.
