 
        
        Test Technician Manufacturing
Role: FTC (12 months)
Location: Glasgow
Hours: 4 day week Monday-Thursday / 37 hours per week
Thales UK develops, manufactures and supplies defence systems covering land, sea and air. At our Glasgow manufacturing site we focus on Optronics and Missile Electronics (OME) with a strong emphasis on manufacturing excellence and operational advantage.
What you'll do
 * Ensure all incidents are logged correctly and escalated to H&S leaders as appropriate.
 * Escalate Health and safety issues to the Work Cell Manager.
 * Perform complex Manufacturing operations in accordance with the associated documentation and quality standards.
 * Test, diagnose and repair various electronic systems and sub‑assemblies to component level.
 * Adhere to defined Company processes when carrying out all tasks.
 * Perform self‑assessment and approval of products.
 * Support continuous improvement actions within the Industry.
 * Detect faults or non‑compliance and raise alerts; contribute to diagnostics and root‑cause analysis.
 * Manage and record build configuration of product.
 * Use company tools (ERP, Palma, etc.) for product assembly tasks.
What you'll need
 * Experience working in a production test department.
 * An electrical/electronic qualification is advantageous.
 * Ability to interpret circuit diagrams and identify faults to component level.
 * Capacity to carry out required actions with minimal supervision.
 * PC literate in Microsoft Office.
 * Secure SC clearance with no restrictions.
In line with Thales' Baseline Security requirements, candidates will be asked to provide evidence of identity, eligibility to work in the UK and employment/education history for up to three years. Some vacancies may require full Security Clearance.
