Field Service Engineer - South RegionSalary: £37,500 - £42,000Hours: 45 hours per week, 9.5 hour days with 30 minute unpaid lunchIdeal base locations: Eastbourne, Brighton, CrawleyRegion coverage: South Coast and South EastOvertime: Paid, enhanced weekend ratesHoliday: 25 days plus bank holidays, 31 days totalVehicle: Company car, Skoda Superb Estate or Transit Connect vanA well established specialist engineering business operating within the healthcare sector is recruiting a Field Service Engineer due to planned retirements in April 2026.The company installs, services, calibrates and validates medical washer disinfectors within hospitals and clinical environments. Engineers are trained to work on Class 1 medical devices and supported with structured internal and external training programmes.These are long term career roles with full technical training provided.Due to site locations, occasional overnight stays will be required.The RoleYou will be responsible for the service, repair, calibration and validation of medical washer disinfectors and drying and storage systems within healthcare settings.Key responsibilities include:Service, repair and modification of medical reprocessing equipmentCalibration, validation and periodic testingElectrical fault finding and mechanical maintenanceCreation of on site validation and laboratory reportsImplementation of company quality proceduresOwnership of site based technical issuesTraining and support for end usersCoaching and first line support for new engineersServicing of selected third party products within the portfolioThis is a field based, customer facing engineering role requiring professionalism, accuracy and strong documentation discipline.What We Are Looking ForMinimum Level 3 qualification in Electrical or Mechanical discipline, ideally bothTime served apprenticeship highly desirableStrong electrical fault finding abilityMechanical aptitude, including small pumps and sealsLogical problem solving skillsFull UK driving licenceEngineers from outside the medical device industry are encouraged to apply.
