About the Opportunity
Astro Education is recruiting for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a highly regarded village primary school near Congleton.
This is a full academic year placement (September 2026 – July 2027), working 1:1 with pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN). The school has an excellent reputation, with a supportive leadership team and a welcoming staff environment—something consistently highlighted by those who have worked there.
The role offers valuable stability and consistency, which is essential when supporting pupils with additional needs. There is also potential for the role to become permanent or extend into the following academic year (2027–2028), as the school prioritises continuity for its pupils.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 support for pupils with SEN
* Work closely with the class teacher to deliver tailored support
* Support pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs
* Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment
* Follow all safeguarding and school policies
Requirements
* Experience working with children or young people (SEN desirable)
* Backgrounds in care, youth work, support work, sports coaching or psychology welcome
* A patient, empathetic and adaptable approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
* Right to work in the UK
