Position
Senior Healthcare Support Worker — Central Clinic, Kilmarnock. Permanent, term-time.
Hours
30 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
The post provides interventional support for families and delivers programmes of work delegated and supervised by the child’s School Nurse. The Health Care Support Worker is integral to the local School Nursing teams in East Ayrshire, where joint working with partners is essential to the delivery of coordinated care with families. Key interests include supporting children with additional needs, positive parenting, families affected by addictions, child communication, language development, nutrition, play, and healthy weight.
Qualifications & Experience
* Educational attainment at SPQ level 6 or working towards this.
* Experience working with children and families in the community or within an education setting.
* Knowledge of health and social care services available for children and families.
* Knowledge of issues that can impact the health and wellbeing of children and their families.
* Ability to work on own initiative and unsupervised.
* Good communication skills, verbal and written.
Other Requirements
* UK driving licence (full UK/EU/EEA licence). The role is community‑based covering various clinic locations.
