Job summary
Playdays Day Nursery, located on-site at The James Cook University Hospital, is registered by OFSTED to care for 86 children daily, from 6 weeks to school age.
The nursery operates from 6.45am to 6.00pm, Monday to Friday, year-round.
Role Purpose:
To provide a caring, stimulating environment for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years and ensure their health and well-being. To monitor and record children's development and share information with professionals.
We are seeking enthusiastic Supply Nursery Assistants to join our team.
This flexible role suits individuals seeking variable hours, ideal for those balancing childcare or courses, including newly qualified practitioners gaining experience while seeking permanent positions.
Main duties:
1. Adhere to OFSTED Standards and Regulations.
2. Ensure compliance with child protection procedures.
3. Follow Trust and Nursery Policies and Procedures.
4. Maintain children's health and safety, conducting risk assessments as needed.
5. Lead in delivering quality care and education.

Qualifications
* Essential: NNEB / BTEC / NVQ 3 in Early Years Care and Education or equivalent
* Desirable: 12-hour Paediatric First Aid Course
Knowledge
* Essential: Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage, communication skills, safeguarding responsibilities
* Desirable: Experience with the Early Years Foundation Stage
Experience
* Essential: Work placement experience in a childcare setting
