About NeuroKids
NeuroKids is a specialist paediatric psychology service supporting children and young people with complex neurodevelopmental, neurological and emotional needs across the UK. We work closely with families, case managers, solicitors, and multidisciplinary teams, providing formulation-led, needs-based support across assessment, therapy and rehabilitation.
About the Role
We are seeking a Psychology Service Manager to lead triage, referral pathways, and service coordination within NeuroKids. This is a psychology-informed, non-clinical role, combining clinical understanding with service coordination, to support high-quality service delivery and development.
The postholder will take ownership of enquiry management, case allocation, and service flow to support the development of care pathways, ensuring timely and effective access to support.
You will act as the first point of contact for treatment enquiries, responsible for:
* Conducting triage of referrals, identifying presenting needs and appropriate pathways
* Applying a formulation-informed approach to decision-making, with escalation to the Clinical Lead where required
* Matching cases to clinicians based on need, complexity, and capacity
* Liaising with families, case managers, solicitors, schools, and professionals
* Overseeing progression from enquiry through to active intervention
* Monitoring case flow and proactively addressing delays or barriers
* Using internal systems to track cases and maintain accurate records
* Contributing to service development, systems, and workforce planning
Essential Skills and Experience
* A degree in psychology or a related field
* A minimum or 2 – 3 years’ experience working with children and young people (clinical, educational, or related settings)
* Experience in coordination, case management, or service delivery roles
* Strong communication skills and confidence speaking with families and professionals
* Confidence in managing complexity and prioritising needs
* Ability to synthesise information and make structured decisions
* Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail
Desirable
* Experience in neurodevelopmental, neuropsychological, or rehabilitation settings
* Experience working with multidisciplinary teams or case management services
* Experience in independent healthcare or similar services
Role Fit
This role is well suited to individuals with one of the following backgrounds:
* Psychology graduates with relevant experience
* Allied Health Professionals (e.g. occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, nursing or related fields) seeking a non-clinical, service coordination role
* Professionals with experience in SEN, case management, or health service delivery
This role will particularly suit individuals who:
* Want to apply psychological knowledge in a non-clinical, service-focused role
* Are interested in triage, coordination, and pathway planning
* Enjoy combining clinical understanding with organisation and decision-making
* Are seeking a longer-term role in a specialist service, rather than a short-term pre-training position
Please note: this role is not suitable for individuals seeking direct clinical experience or short-term roles prior to professional psychology training.
* This is a non-therapy role
* The postholder will not provide assessment, diagnosis, or intervention
* Clinical decision-making remains under the oversight of the Clinical Lead
