Overview
Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist position at Red Moor School, Lanlivery PL30 5BT. This role involves delivering bespoke Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils within an education setting, collaborating with the education team, and contributing to staff training and consultation as required. The post supports pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neurodivergent, or have SEMH needs, in line with the OFG Speech and Language Therapy Ways of Working.
Responsibilities
* Hold a Speech and Language Therapy caseload with support from a designated clinical supervisor and site lead.
* Deliver assessment and intervention to pupils in collaboration with education teams.
* Work within the standards provided by OFG Speech and Language Therapy Ways of Working.
* Contribute to staff training and consultation as required.
* Promote a person-centred, empowering approach and uphold safeguarding culture across settings.
* Support development of training and in-person presentations; participate in research projects and audits as appropriate.
Qualifications & Experience
* Recognised Speech & Language Therapy degree.
* Valid and up-to-date HCPC Registration.
* Registered member of RCSLT.
* At least 5+ years practicing experience at the specialist level with relevant client groups in similar settings.
* Highly developed specialist knowledge underpinned by theory and practical experience.
* Experience in multidisciplinary working across settings with some responsibility for service and team performance.
* Experience communicating with and working with families/relatives and carers; experience in developing training and giving presentations.
* Experience providing professional and clinical supervision; involvement in research projects and audits.
* Desirable: Advanced knowledge in neurodivergence, cognitive differences/difficulties, and trauma-informed practice.
Skills
* Exceptional relationship-building, analytical and judgmental skills.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills; strong time management and organisational abilities.
* Strong knowledge of core SaLT practice and understanding of RCSLT Communication Standards.
* Experience with neurodivergence, cognitive differences, and trauma-informed approaches.
Location & Contract
Location: Red Moor School, Lanlivery PL30 5BT. Part-time considered; 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, hours overlapping with core school hours. Permanent contract (term-time only or flexible full-time based on circumstances).
