Location: Yorkshire Water – Bio-Resource department covering the North area (Bradford & York). Must live within reasonable commute of Esholt WWTW. Permanent role.

Responsibilities
The Product & Process Technical Optimiser is accountable for the process performance of a specified number of E&R sites, including STW, STF, and all recycling operations, ensuring technical competence and permit compliance. The role coordinates and optimises wastewater compliance performance, sludge throughput and sustainable recycling at each site, providing the site operations team with process expertise, training and support to deliver operational excellence.
Where you fit in
You will lead the site operations team from a performance perspective, present data in team hubs, lead collaborative working sessions (PSTB, etc.), be visible on‑site, provide support and challenge to ensure safe operation per YW Health & Safety policies. Deliver industry‑leading operational performance in 8 key areas: Energy Consumption, Generation Performance, Chemical Optimisation, Permit Compliance, Treatment & Asset Reliability Investigations, Management of Change, Operational Guidance, Cake Recycling and Sludge Permit compliance.
Qualifications and Experience
* Knowledge of typical STW/STF asset bases
* Detailed technical understanding of wastewater and sludge treatment processes and fault‑finding/optimisation
* Working knowledge of SCADA/RTS systems
* Experience delivering outputs against challenging business plans
* Experience working with energy reports
* Experience delivering continual improvement in a mature production environment
* Analytical, proficient in key IT systems
* Experience with Health and Safety Management Systems
* Effective prioritisation and delivery efficiency
Desirable
* WAMITAB qualification as a TCM or a willingness to work towards it
* Financial awareness
* Experience in a commercially oriented and/or regulated environment
* Project Management experience
* Experience with CHP engines and gas systems
