Clinical Nurse Specialist Gynaecology

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic nurse to join our established, friendly, and supportive team of Clinical Nurse Specialists. The Emergency Gynaecology Unit (EGU) provides a dedicated outpatient gynaecology service offering advice and treatment to women requiring specialist care. The unit includes services such as Abortion care, Early Pregnancy, and Emergency Gynaecology. We are seeking a committed and experienced nurse with skills in early pregnancy and emergency gynaecology, or a nurse/midwife with a clinical ultrasound qualification and relevant experience within early pregnancy. This is a band 7 role.

Main duties of the job
The ideal candidate will be motivated, possess excellent communication skills, and be capable of providing high-quality patient care. The role involves working alongside the specialist abortion care service, which provides both local and national services. You will work closely with the Lead Nurse and Lead Consultants, collaborating with the gynaecology nursing team and providing cross-cover for the service as needed. The ability to work independently and uphold high standards of care is essential.

Person Specification
* RN / RM registration
* Ultrasound qualification in Early Pregnancy Assessment and Gynaecology
* Working towards or completed a relevant Degree
* Experience supporting and leading an Early Pregnancy Assessment Clinic
* Venepuncture and cannulation skills
* Contraception and Sexual Health qualifications/experience
* Working towards or completed a Masters degree
* Recognized teaching certificate
* Understanding of Clinical Governance and Risk Management

Disclosure and Barring Service Check
This role requires a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, in accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975.
Salary: £54,320 to £60,981 per annum, pro-rata.
