Consultant Psychiatrist – Liaison Psychiatry, Lancaster (10PA)
We are recruiting a full‑time (10PA) consultant psychiatrist based at Royal Lancaster Infirmary. The role is part of our well‑established Mental Health Liaison Team operating within the Emergency Department (A&E) and Medical Assessment Wards. You will recruit into a 387‑bed acute Trust, delivering rapid assessment services to individuals aged 16+ and supporting in‑patients on medical/surgical wards.
Additional remuneration will be provided for on‑call duties and for a 5% basic salary bonus payable over 2 years.
Salary range: £109,725 – £145,478 per annum. Contract: Permanent. Working pattern: Full‑time.
Job Responsibilities
Main duties of the job include:
* Leading a multidisciplinary team of junior doctors, nursing staff, operational managers, clinical psychologists, social workers, pharmacists and occupational therapists.
* Participating on the Consultant On‑Call rota.
* Providing senior clinical leadership and rapid assessment of patients referred to the team.
* Supporting delivery of care to patients aged 16 and over, and providing advice to in‑patients on medical/surgical wards.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* MBBS or equivalent.
* Full GMC registration and Licence to Practise.
* Entry on the GMC Specialist Register (or within six months at interview).
* Section 12 approved (S12) and Approved Clinician (AC) status, or eligibility to obtain within six months.
Experience
* Relevant knowledge, skills and experience in psychiatry, especially liaison psychiatry.
