Offer description

Description In coordination with LHT’s Medical Director, and under the guidance of the Senior Product Manager, the Medical Product Support Specialist will be responsible for maintaining and developing the medical datasets that underpin Verisk’s Risk Rating Tools. The role will initially focus on supporting our Travel Insurance Risk Rating Tool, but will broaden over time to contribute across other products such as Health, Life, and Critical Illness. This provides an excellent opportunity to build a wide understanding of medical risk rating in different insurance markets. The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Product Manager to gain technical, commercial, and client-facing experience that strengthens the product team and ensures high-quality delivery. While there is no immediate expectation of product ownership, over time the role may provide a pathway towards greater responsibility, including the potential to take on a product owner position in the longer term. A keen eye for detail will be key to success — ensuring accuracy in medical data, risk ratings, and communications helps maintain the quality, reliability, and credibility of our products with insurers, regulators, and customers. The role will focus on • Risk Rating Development – Using relevant medical and market data to support a consistent, accurate, and robust approach to rating pre-existing medical conditions for insurance applications. • Ongoing Dataset Management – Helping to identify and implement updates that reflect new medical conditions, treatments, research findings, regulatory changes, customer feedback, and claims analytics. • Product Maintenance & Delivery – Working with Product and Client Services teams to plan, implement, test, and release updates to Risk Rating Tools, and assisting Client Services in explaining and justifying changes to clients throughout the update cycle. • Product Innovation – Contributing ideas and medical expertise to the development of new features or tools that enhance our Risk Rating Tools across different product lines. • Specialist Client Support – Supporting the Risk Rating Support Line by helping to manage and resolve complex medical underwriting queries, ensuring accurate and consistent outcomes for clients. The role will be based at LHT’s Head Office in Esher, Surrey and may require travel to other company sites and/or client sites including travel outside of the UK. Responsibilities Learn how insurers approach medical risk assessment and apply your clinical knowledge to strengthen our risk rating datasets and outputs for insurers, intermediaries, and customers. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical advancements, treatment pathways, and public health trends relevant to insurance. Apply strong attention to detail when reviewing datasets, risk ratings, and documentation to ensure accuracy, consistency, and regulatory compliance. Work closely with the Senior Product Manager and Business Development teams to understand the impact of regulatory and legislative changes across markets. Collaborate with the leadership team and data analytics specialists to explore how product and claims data can improve our tools and create additional value for clients. Support Client Services in clearly explaining the reasoning and evidence behind dataset changes to clients during the update cycle. Gain an understanding of the Risk Rating Tools’ features and capabilities, and contribute ideas to improve how clients use them and benefit from them.
