People are at the heart of our retail concept, and we want to invest in our staff and make the future extraordinary.

About the Role:

We are seeking a Productivity Manager to lead the transformation of labour planning across our retail estate. This hands-on role will embed a modern, workload-driven workforce management approach, shifting from cost-based to demand-led, hours-based planning aligned to customer and operational needs. Working with Operations, Finance, HR and Data teams, you will own labour modelling, productivity improvement and workforce planning standards, initially embedding a new labour model before driving ongoing optimisation and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

1. Labour Model Ownership & Development

1. Own and refine the labour model, aligning workload drivers to labour hours
2. Translate operational activity into accurate labour requirements
3. Maintain and evolve labour assumptions, drivers and rules
4. Support scenario modelling to inform trading and investment decisions

2. Workforce Planning & Productivity

5. Embed a consistent labour planning approach across all stores
6. Define and apply labour standards and productivity benchmarks
7. Identify efficiency opportunities while protecting customer experience
8. Analyse planned, actual and payroll labour performance to deliver insights

3. Store Engagement & Ways of Working

9. Partner with Operations to embed new labour planning principles
10. Support stores to understand and optimise labour deployment
11. Provide clear, practical guidance for rota planning and labour management
12. Bridge central strategy and store-level execution

4. Data, Insight & Performance Management

13. Develop reporting and insights to support labour decisions
14. Track key labour metrics and performance outcomes
15. Work with Data/BI teams to improve data quality and visibility
16. Ensure a single, trusted view of labour performance

5. Continuous Improvement & Change

17. Drive ongoing improvement of labour planning processes and tools
18. Simplify and standardise ways of working where possible
19. Support the evolution of workforce planning capability and tools
20. Contribute to broader operational excellence and cost initiatives

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration

21. Partner with Finance to align labour hours and payroll costs
22. Work with HR on labour structures, contracts and compliance
23. Collaborate with Technology teams to optimise workforce systems (e.g. UKG)
24. Engage stakeholders at all levels to drive alignment and adoption

Person Specification:

Experience & Skills

25. Experience in workforce management, labour optimisation, operations or productivity roles in a multi-site environment (retail or hospitality preferred), with a strong understanding of labour planning, scheduling and productivity drivers
26. Confident using data, models and performance metrics to inform decisions, including building and refining models in Excel or similar tools
27. Comfortable working in evolving environments where processes, tools and models are still being developed

Capabilities

28. Strong analytical and practical problem-solving skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts for operational teams
29. Effective stakeholder management and influencing skills, working confidently across functions
30. Resilient and adaptable, able to drive change in a fast-paced environment

Mindset

31. Hands-on, delivery-focused and pragmatic, balancing progress with perfection
32. Curious with a continuous improvement mindset
33. Passionate about improving how stores operate and perform
