Main duties of the job
What you'll do:
* Assess patients for falls and osteoporosis risk and plan personalised care
* Provide clear advice on treatment, medication and fracture prevention
* Work closely with colleagues across services to coordinate care
* Keep accurate clinical records in line with professional standards
* Support learning by contributing to audits, training and student supervision
What we're looking for
* A registered adult nurse with post‑registration nursing experience
* Confidence in communicating complex or sensitive information with empathy
* An understanding of evidence‑based practice in falls or fracture prevention
* Ability to manage your own workload and work well within a team
* Willingness to keep learning, with training and supervision available
Person Specification
Essential
* RN 1st level registered nurse/general or adult
Desirable
* Post registered qualifications
* Mentorship qualification
Knowledge
Essential
* Have an understanding of legislation and national drivers impacting on service delivery around fracture liaison and falls
* Have an up to date knowledge of the Modernisation Agenda
* An awareness of Integrated Team working and MDT working
* Knowledge of evidence based practice in relation to fracture liaison and falls
* Have an awareness of local initiatives around the assessment and management of fracture liaison and falls
Desirable
* Evidence of ongoing professional development
* Able to mentor students
Experience
Essential
* Post registration nursing experience
* Basic IT skills to be able to negotiate Lorenzo, SystmOne and FRAX
Desirable
* Basic health and safety awareness
* Experience of working within Orthopaedics and Geriatrics
* Experience of providing training in relation to fracture liaison and falls to other health care professionals
