Interventional Radiology Senior Staff Nurse – Band 6
NHS AfC: Band 6
Contract: Permanent, with on‑call commitments
Hours: Full time – 37.5 hours per week
Site: Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading
Salary: £38,682 – £46,580 per annum (pro rata for part‑time)

Key Responsibilities
* Assess the needs of patients, families and carers and plan, deliver and evaluate evidence‑based nursing care.
* Maintain accurate, timely written and electronic records.
* Demonstrate analytical ability and sound decision‑making in changing clinical situations.
* Adhere to NMC Code and Trust policies, protocols and guidelines.
* Accountable for own practice and appropriate delegation to colleagues, nursing support workers and students.
* Recognise deterioration and act promptly, referring as required.
* Respond to and manage emergency situations.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
* Experience in interventional radiology desirable but not essential.
* Experience with surgical scrub technique, assisting with interventional procedures, administering conscious sedation and post‑procedure recovery care.
* Excellent communication, clinical and decision‑making skills.
Desirable Criteria
* Previous interventional radiology experience.
* Full training provided; suitable for candidates requiring sponsorship (note: not all roles are eligible).
