This role focuses on driving quality assurance within the GMA assembly process by managing inspection activities, leading root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions. Responsibilities include supporting product audits, developing inspection strategies, overseeing process deviations, and contributing to continuous improvement and new product launches.

Key Responsibilities
* Capture quality concerns and facilitate problem root cause and perform verification of corrective actions.
* Responsible for completing first article inspections.
* Continuous improvement of the GMA measurement & inspection strategy.
* Support final product audit.
* Manage temporary containment in the GMA assembly process including approval of component rework and process deviation.
* Responsible for the creation, analysis and application of testing and inspection procedures
* Establish in-process quality gateways for the GMA assembly process.
* Support the DFMEA & lead the PFMEA activity.
* Support new product launches to ensure that product quality meets the required standards.
* Facilitate the escalation of unresolved quality issues.
* Report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in order to adhere to process and prevent occurrence of any non-conformity relating to product, process or system.
* Review manufacturing processes and collaborate with engineers on process improvement & value enhancement opportunities.
* Liaise with internal departments in order to carry out ‘internal quality audits’ to ensure adherence to ISO9001 certification.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
* Metrology, Inspection Methods and Equipment including measurement experience.
* Understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings.
* Understanding of manufacturing processes.
* Working knowledge of problem-solving methodologies e.g. 8D.
* Ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment.
* Knowledge of composites (structural or visual/painted panels), bonding, plastic mouldings, exterior trim, as well as experience and knowledge in assembly processes is desirable.
* Planning and prioritising of activities.
* Negotiation skills.
* Ability to present data effectively.
* Understanding of Health and Safety practices.
* Organised, persuasive, resourceful, flexible, ambitious, self-directing, passion for delivering objectives, comfortable challenging existing processes.
* Clear and effective communication skills with internal and external clients
* Must be a team player.
