Accounts Payable Manager - Up to £50,000 | Onsite | Lichfield
A well-established and growing SME based in Lichfield is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to join their finance team on a full-time, onsite basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive and detail-oriented finance professional to take ownership of the purchase-to-pay function and play a pivotal role in process improvement as the business continues its growth journey.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage all aspects of the Accounts Payable function, ensuring timely and accurate processing of supplier invoices across multiple currencies.
2. Maintain and reconcile the purchase ledger and cashbook, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
3. Support month-end and year-end close procedures, collaborating closely with the Financial Controller and wider finance team.
4. Take a key role in supporting the annual audit process, ensuring compliance and timely provision of audit evidence.
5. Drive improvements in the P2P (procure-to-pay) process, contributing to the development and implementation of a new system.
6. Oversee supplier payments, managing relationships and resolving any discrepancies or disputes.
7. Support with payroll processing in collaboration with external providers, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
8. Utilise accounting systems such as Sage 50, QuickBooks, and other ERP platforms to maintain accurate financial records and reporting.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
9. Proven experience in a senior Accounts Payable or Purchase Ledger role, ideally within an SME environment.
10. Strong knowledge of multi-currency transactions, month-end/year-end procedures, and audit support.
11. Demonstrable track record of process improvement within the finance function.
12. Proficiency in Sage 50, QuickBooks, and experience with ERP systems.
13. Excellent attention to detail, a hands-on approach, and strong interpersonal skills.
14. Experience in payroll is highly advantageous.
