I am proud to be working in partnership with a public sector organisation that is recruiting for a Communications Officer to join their dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in transforming how the Communications team engages with residents, customers, and stakeholders across digital and traditional channels.
Responsibilities include:
* Designing and delivering strategic communications campaigns
* Managing media relations and acting as a spokesperson
* Creating engaging content for web, social, print, and video
* Supporting internal communications and change programmes
* Collaborating with partners on joint campaigns
* Providing crisis communications support when needed
Ideal candidates will have:
* Skills in campaign planning and content creation
* Confidence working with media, stakeholders, and senior leaders
* Digital savvy with storytelling flair
* Organisational, adaptable, and collaborative skills
* Proven track record in communications, PR, journalism, or digital media
* Strong writing and editing skills across platforms
* Understanding of communications evaluation and digital tools
* Experience in local government or the public sector (desirable)
* Familiarity with AI tools and emerging digital platforms (desirable)
Qualifications:
* Degree in communications, journalism, marketing, PR, or equivalent
