This role is for the Senior Asset Management Officer, part of a small team undertaking a diverse range of capital projects and asset development, management and delivery across Children’s Services assets, predominantly schools.
The team works with colleagues from the local authority and external partners to ensure the Council provides appropriate support to schools so that buildings and estate are effectively managed and that the Council fulfils its statutory obligation to provide sufficient school places for all who need them. This post is a designated customer-facing role under the fluency duty and requires a specified level of spoken English as per the person specification.
Responsibilities
* Demonstrate proven experience of working on major capital projects.
* Work positively and creatively with partner bodies and organisations to deliver successful outcomes.
* Contribute to basic financial management and understand relevant statutory guidance and regulations related to school organisation, building, compliance and design matters.
* Be competent in using Microsoft Office software.
* Undertake and adapt to a diverse range of project subjects, working independently and as part of a team.
* Demonstrate excellent organisation and communication skills and manage stakeholders effectively.
Qualifications
* Knowledge and ability to undertake basic financial management.
* Practical understanding of current statutory guidance and regulations in respect of school organisation, building, compliance and design matters.
* Ability to work on major capital projects and collaborate with partner bodies to achieve outcomes.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
* Strong organisation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
