1:1 Tutor Required – Wigan
Monday–Friday | Immediate Start | £25-£28 Per hour
We are seeking a calm, patient and consistent tutor to work 1:1 with a young learner in Wigan who has ASD and a PDA profile.
This role is entirely dedicated to supporting this individual child, helping them re-engage with education in a safe, flexible and relationship‑led way.
This is a highly rewarding opportunity to provide stability, understanding and personalised learning for a pupil who needs a gentle, trusting approach.
The Role
• Deliver low‑demand, child‑led 1:1 sessions
• Monday to Friday
• Provide flexible learning in core subjects (Maths, English and/or Science) at a pace suited to the learner
• Use ASD/PDA‑sensitive approaches, communication styles and expectations
• Support emotional regulation, confidence, and re-engagement
• Build a safe, trusting mentoring relationship centred around the pupil’s needs
About You
• Experience supporting young people with ASD and PDA
• Minimum 1 year tutoring experience
• SEND / SEMH experience
• QTS or PGCE (desirable but not essential)
• Able to work flexibly and adapt your approach based on the child’s readiness
• Calm, patient and emotionally regulated
• Confident delivering basic learning in English and Maths
• DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
