Job overview ROCS is a nurse-led, 365-day community service supporting safe discharge following orthopaedic surgery at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital (ROH). The service delivers post-operative care, complex wound management, intravenous antibiotic therapy under the Bone Infection Service, and physiotherapy support within patients’ homes. The role of senior sister: To lead and manage and develop the ROCS Team, ensuring that a high quality seamless interface is provided to all patients accepted onto the scheme. The post holder will be forward thinking and dynamic in approach to the expansion and development of the service. To utilise allocated budgets and resources effectively and efficiently. This will involve day to day management of manpower and resources related to the team, liaison with appropriate staff, external agencies and stakeholders. You will be expected to work within the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital and the patient’s home as part of the ROCS team. The post holder will be a member of the relevant service group/groups and represent nursing issues accordingly. Advert Exercise leadership of the interdisciplinary team. Act as an appropriate and effective role model at all times Develop the service providing a seamless interface between hospital and community care for all patients within the Trust as appropriate. Co-ordinate events and activities relating to the scheme. Be a clinical expert; act as a change agent and innovator for orthopaedic discharge and community IV services. 6. Lead on evaluating and updating the ROCS service practices ensuring that they are based on current policies are patient centred, of a high quality and evidence based.
